The Police Treatment Centres offer a number of rehabilitation facilities and alternative therapies for serving and ex members.
Patients can avail of an excellent physiotherapy department, hydrotherapy pool, Back Care Programme and exercise facilities.
Attendance at the Centres through the Fund is open to serving officers and ex members. Applications for all serving officers and ex members are available from the Benevolent Fund office 028 90764215. Forms can be completed by a GP, FMO, Physiotherapist or Occupational Health Nurse and should contain as much medical information as possible with a clear recommendation for treatment at the Centre.
Each application is carefully assessed on the medical information provided as it is important the patient uses the facilities to the utmost benefit.
Stress and anxiety conditions can be treated at both Treatment Centres. However, applicants suffering from such conditions should be aware that facilities for stress related illnesses are limited. There are no counselling services available at either Centre however, such conditions often benefit from the excellent alternative therapies on offer as well as relaxation and exercise classes.
