Throughout the month the Benevolent Fund Representatives will visit those requesting assistance from the Fund, prepare their case and present it at the monthly meeting of the Management Committee. (The Committee currently meets on the first Wednesday of each month.)
All applications are considered in a sensitive and confidential manner. The Committee follows policy guidelines in deciding if an application falls within the remit of the rules of the Fund.
Applicants are required to provide a full financial breakdown and quotes wherever possible.
From the 1st April 2009 the Fund also became responsible for the administration of all Police Dependant’s Trust (PDT) applications from Northern Ireland; Benevolent Fund Representatives will conduct home visits on behalf of PDT.
The work of the Management Committee Representatives is crucial to the working of the RUCGC-PSNI Benevolent Fund, with the representatives visiting people who wish to make applications to the Fund for financial help. All applications are assessed and carefully considered at a monthly meeting of the Benevolent Fund Management Committee.
